A meaningful meal!!!

Time flies! It's time for me to share what I cooked last week again! This time, rather than challenging myself to make a difficult dish, I made a dish that was simple but meaningful!

Since my parents were busy working, I have lived with my grandparents since I was born. Seldom did I have time to be with my parents; however, last Friday, my grandparents went to Hualian because my aunt gave birth to a baby. Therefore, my parents came and accompanied me. When I came home, it was already 11 pm; however, my parents hadn't had their dinner yet,so I volunteered to cook for them! Without lots of ingridients, I just cooked two bowls of seafood noodles with onions. It didn't take me much time, yet my parents enjoyed the meal with a satisfied expression on their faces.

Seeing their facial expressions, I realized that sometimes, to have a wonderful and happy time with your family can be very simple as long as you treat them sincerely!!!:)

  1. It's really good to cook for someone you love and see their face full of satisfaction. But, all I can cook are some very simple dishes like fried egg and rice, maybe some vegetables. Last weekend, I spent almost 30 minutes cooking fried rice for my sisters,
and I saw them finish the rice that I originally thought too much for them. Then I was really happy, I ask them" Is this delicious?", however they just said" we didn't eat breakfast, so we are hungry". Therefore, I understand that I have to improve my cooking skill more!

  2. Wow~ I bet you'll be a great wife in the future! At least, your husband can always have a warm and delicious dinner waiting for him when he got home after a long day's hard work.
I used to live with my grandparents when I was little, too, due to my parents' busy work. My grandmother had tried to teach me some dishes and cooking skills, yet the result was always a disaster. I guess she had given up trying to turn me into a good chief hahaXD. But this summer, after the College Entrance Exam, I finally gathered up my courage and asked my sister to help me with some difficult dishes that I have never even thought about trying. The dishes weren't as good as the ones Grandma made, but I still asked grandma to give it a try shamelessly.
The best thing about family is that they always accept my whole being, no matter how lame I am at some certain things. And yes, my grandma didn't criticize my "work" at all. She just gave me some advice on making the dish better next time and finished the WHOLE dish with a satisfied expression. (Although I'm not sure whether she gave me that satisfied expression just to assure me of the quality of the dish or not.:)
