Merry Xmas!!!^o^

Merry Christmas everybody! Since Christmas is my favorite holiday, today, I will not only introduce what food I made, but share some beautiful picture of Christmas with you guys!

I had dinner with some of my friends on Christmas day. We had hotpot, and had a wonderful time being together! Since I enjoy cooking, I volunteered to cook for my friends. We ate a lot of things such as sticky rice balls, rice cakes, pork, mutton, enoki mushroom and so on. It wasn’t very difficult to cook hotpot; however, for me, the most important thing was that I could enjoy the time hanging out and chatting with my friends through cooking!

I also went to Xinyi district of Taipei city, where was full of Christmas decorations and so crowded with people. I was so excited because this was the first time I visited there during Christmas season. The atmosphere was so warm that I felt like being in a Christmas party, and everyone was so enthusiastic to interact with me. There was a big Christmas tree beside Taipei Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Block A11. It was so beautiful that I couldn’t help taking a lot of pictures!

I had a very wonderful time on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and I hope next year, when Christmas is around the corner again, I can prepare a big Christmas meal and share it with my friends together!

The first time I cooked!

After sharing some of the dishes I made these days, today, I want to share you guys what happened to me when I cooked for the first time.

I started to cook when I was in junior high school, and I still remember I felt so nervous that my hands couldn't stop shaking. My grandma patiently taught me how to cook rice omelet; however, I still couldn't do it well. I thought the most difficult part was to fry eggs. I was afraid that the oil might splash on me; therefore, as soon as I poured the egg mixture into the wok, I screamed and ran away, leaving my grandma alone to fight with the "mess" I made.

Now, I am not afraid of frying eggs anymore. Moreover, I have learned many dishes after that embarrassing experience. For me, cooking is an enjoyable thing!:-)

A meaningful meal!!!

Time flies! It's time for me to share what I cooked last week again! This time, rather than challenging myself to make a difficult dish, I made a dish that was simple but meaningful!

Since my parents were busy working, I have lived with my grandparents since I was born. Seldom did I have time to be with my parents; however, last Friday, my grandparents went to Hualian because my aunt gave birth to a baby. Therefore, my parents came and accompanied me. When I came home, it was already 11 pm; however, my parents hadn't had their dinner yet,so I volunteered to cook for them! Without lots of ingridients, I just cooked two bowls of seafood noodles with onions. It didn't take me much time, yet my parents enjoyed the meal with a satisfied expression on their faces.

Seeing their facial expressions, I realized that sometimes, to have a wonderful and happy time with your family can be very simple as long as you treat them sincerely!!!:)

Frying Fish

This time, I want to share you guys the most difficult dish I have ever made. That is frying fish. Last Sunday, my grandma brought back two fish. As soon as I saw them, I decided to challenge myself. I asked my grandma to let me have a try—frying fish on my own. I never did it before because I was afraid of being splashed by the oil, but this time, I thought I was old enough to do this tough work!

In the beginning, all things went well; however, when it was time to turn the fish upside down, I had a hard time doing this movement.  The fish was out of control, keeping flipping away, and the water inside the fish resulted in oil splash. Therefore, my hands and arms continued being "attacked" by the oil.
It was so hurt that I couldn’t help screaming, but I didn’t give up! Finally, I finished the tough work! I thought the result was better than I had expected, and I really enjoyed the moment I “fought” with the two fish! :D

What I made on Dragon Boat Festival!!!

Today I want to share with you guys about what I cooked on last Dragon Boat Festival. I still remember on that day, I got up very early, and I had a strong eagerness to cook something; therefore, I asked my grandma to let me be in charge of what we ate that day.
I cooked three dishes in that morning, including fried green beans, eggplant and luffa. I also wrapped sticky rice dumplings . That was really a tough work!
This time, without my grandma’s help, I finished all the dishes by myself. First, I fried green beans with big fire, adding some garlic to make them taste more delicious. Second, I sauted eggplant with mincemeat and some green onion. And the last dish was luffa cooked with some dried shrimps.

I took a few pictures of my works and uploaded them to Facebook that day to wish everyone a happy Dragon Boat Festival, and I also received a lot of positive feedback, which really gave me a great sense of achievement! Now I want to share this again to you guys. Hope you will feel a little bit hungry after seeing the picture! :)

Moon Festival

Every year, when it comes to Moon Festival, it's my family's routines to grill lamb chops to celebrate the wonderful holiday. This time, I took the responsiblity to be the "chief"!At first, I had difficulties controlling the heat and making the meat taste good; however, after trying for several times, I knew the secret! The most important part of the hard work lies in using a lid. After I put the lamb chops on the pot, I put the lid on, waiting for about 3 minutes. When the oil flowed out from the lamb chops, it was time to turn over them. It was not until the lamp chops turned gray that we could dig in!I also cooked black papper sause so that the meat would not taste too greasy.
It was really an impressive experience for me since it was my first time I grill my favorite food.I was so nervous and eager to gorge right away, and I learned a lot from this experience. I knew how to control the heat, and I realized it took attention to make such a small thing well done. After I finished my "job", my families and I had a sweet time together. Now, I share my work with you guys, hoping that it can make you drool with desire!
